About DWF...
The David Whitehead Foundation is about both funding and creating community awareness for mental health, substance misuse and the lasting effects it has on families. Funds that are raised are to be donated to charities who specialize in supporting and providing mental health and drug addiction awareness. Additional initiatives to bring awareness to communities will be through speaking engagements with both guest speakers and the telling of David's story to both educate and provide strength for those fighting unseen battles.
David Whitehead lost his battle with mental health and drug addiction in July of 2019 after many up and down years including depression and overall difficulty finding his way out of the darkness. David was someone who had the biggest heart and would show care for others before his own well-being. He would go out of his way to help someone in need as evidenced through his social work, and involvement with local homeless shelters.
